How this site works

Yard Pod Check is a planning tool. It puts backyard pod sizes from makers' own pages next to permit rules from building offices' own pages, and shows where they line up and where they do not.

Where the facts come from

Pod sizes, specs and prices come only from each maker's site. Rule text comes only from a city or county page, a code library, or an official handout. Each item shows the link and the date it was read. When two sources give different figures, the item is marked "not confirmed yet" and no number is shown. When a maker does not publish a figure, the page says "not published" instead of guessing.

Copies of every page read are kept with the site's research files, so changes can be spotted at the next check.

What it does not do

It does not decide whether you need a permit. It repeats what the published rule says and does the arithmetic on published sizes. Zoning, HOA rules and the building office's reading of its own code can all change the answer.

How the site is paid for

Right now it carries no ads and no affiliate links. Links to makers are plain links. If that changes, this page and each affected page will say so.
